MASS GRAVE DATING FROM 1992, HAS FINALLY BEEN DISCOVERED IN BURUNDI.
The republic of Burundi has discovered a mass grave which contains bones
and skulls of people in the Gasenyi locality of Mwaro central province.
The mass grave which dates back to 1972, was discovered on Wednesday, by contractors preparing the ground to build a new school.
According to Iwacu News, the people were killed in the 1972 crises,
following the death of Ntare V of Burundi, the last king of Burundi, who
was executed and thrown into a common grave.
Rose Habonimana, an eyewitness, who witnessed the crises, said:
‘It was in 1972 when I was a young girl studying in 5th form in primary school. The crisis began and we abandoned schools. Many people were killed and buried in this place which remained smelly for about a whole year.’
While Onésime Nzojibwami, another indigene of Gasenyi, also confirmed
that the crises began when Charles Ndizeye, King Ntare V got killed.
‘I was in 4th form in primary school in 1972 when the crisis broke out. It was the mass killing of Hutu population. People were killed and their riches stolen.’
However, the Chairman of the Association for the Remembrance and
Protection of Humanity against International Crimes-AMEPCI, Aloys
Batungwanayo, has called on Burundi Government to identify and punish
those who committed those crimes.

“I realised the last abuse might have taken place long before their holiday, maybe that was why I did not notice any physical discomfort at the time she came home.“Immediately my aunty told me what my daughter told her own daughter, I examined my daughter and was shocked by what I saw. It was obvious the hole I saw there did not come there during one encounter.
“I rushed to the school and confronted the proprietress. Rather than invite his son to ask him questions, she picked up her phone, called and asked him if it was true he was raping the girls he taught. Of course, he denied it.
“I then took my daughter to a hospital where some doctors examined her and confirmed what I already knew. She was only examined, they did not test her for diseases. The doctors said she had indeed been defiled.”The suspect is currently in Sokoto State, Saturday PUNCH learnt.

Truly, the mother has told me about her visit to the hospital and about how much she needs to pay for treatment and tests on the girl but I have no money. I have been very broke. I told her that she should be patient with me and that I would find the money. I can only beg her. If it is about money, I will find money.”

The victim, 23 year old Pheng Sreyla pictured above, yesterday described how she was held and beaten by the wife and several family members of her lover, 36-year-old Choem Vuthy.
“While they were beating me, the suspect grabbed two bottles and poured them down on my head,” she said.
“I felt very hot on my head, face and my eyes; it was like fire.”Sreyla, a garment worker at a small handicraft manufacturer, was collecting her paycheck when she was allegedly set upon by Vuthy’s wife, Chhum Savun, 34, along with Savun’s mother, Huy Van, 66,
and siblings, Chhum Savarng, 37, and Chhum Sarvuth, 28.
“Now I cannot see, and the doctor told me that if I still cannot see in two weeks, I will be blind forever,” Sreyla said through tears.Returning to her Ralaing Kroeul commune home for police interviews, Sreyla said she was seeking justice. She is three months pregnant with Vuthy’s child.
“I know that I love her husband, but I have never wanted them to get divorced. I told the suspect that I am willing to be the second wife,” she said.Sam Sak, the chief of the Kampong Speu provincial police’s serious crimes bureau, said yesterday that three people had been arrested after Pheng Sreyla was attacked with acid outside the garment factory where she worked.
“We arrested three people who are involved in the case, but they are not the ones who poured acid on the victim,” he said.
“We are detaining them at the police station for questioning, but we have not yet set a date to send them to court.”
Police believe the garment worker was attacked because of her relationship with another woman’s husband.
According to the complaint filed by Ms. Sreyla, she had been in a relationship with the woman’s husband for three years and commune police officials had been called multiple times to stop the relationship by the man’s wife.
Surprisingly, they heeded the calls and did try to end the relationship, making both Ms. Sreyla and the woman’s husband promise not to see each other again.
But they continued to see each other and continued an intimate relationship.

It surfaced after a diner from Slovenia went with friends to a restaurant in Padua, in northern Italy and asked for the Chinese delicacy of bear paws.
The waiter, who was not named in reports, claims his picture of human feet seen below, were the 'bear paws' that were later served to the Slovenian and his friends.
After seeing the disturbing picture on social media, a regular Italian customer reported it to the authorities.
Daily reports police and food standards officials inspected the restaurant and found 55lbs of meat and frozen fish of doubtful origin.
They also found dirt and grease all over the refrigerators, on the floors and on the oven, reports said.
Packages of frog legs and crab meat were reportedly found to be well beyond their expiry dates.
Police have consulted a forensic pathologist about the feet picture, who
said they appeared human, and say they are still investigating the
image's origin.
The restaurant's legal status and whether it is still operating are unclear.

STRANGE MAN MURDERS A YOUNG BOY WITH ALBINISM FOR MONEY RITUAL.
The businessman identified as Willard Mikayele on Tuesday allegedly lured 19-year-old Sunganani Pensulo with biscuits and juice into his house at Mlonda Village, where he killed him.
The
spokesperson for police in Thyolo said when Pensulo entered the house of
Mikayele and was eating the biscuit and drinking the juice, Mikayele
came from behind, tied up his neck to choke him before hitting him with a
sharp object.
'People around the area heard the cries and went to the chief who ordered that the door be broken. When they got in, Pensulo's lifeless body was found, but Mikayele had run away.'
In retaliation to his death, angry mob and relatives of Pensulo have demolished 11 houses belonging to Mikayele.

FLOURMILL STAFF NABBED FOR CARRYING FIREARM, CRIES OUT HIS INNOCENT.
According to the officer who introduced the suspect , Ichionye was
accosted by a mob who suspected him of being an armed robber and,
taking justice into their hands, started attacking him before police
intervened and discovered a gun with him.
“We found him in Layeni, Alaba area by a few minutes past ten p.m. on 31st Dec.” The police officer said.
“He was with two other guys on the bike. He was riding the bike when a mob attacked them.The police on patrol from that same division sighted mob attack and wondering what was happening, went there to question the mob. The mob claimed the men were trying to rob somebody when they caught him with this gun. In the process, while they were attacking them the other two escaped. It was the mob that even arrested them.”
Ichionye while speaking, denied the claims saying that he has
never seen the gun and doesn’t know where it came from. He also said he
has not been able to contact his family who must be looking for him now.
“I work in Flourmill. I’m a staff in Flourmill. Honestly, Flourmill will defend me. That very Saturday Watch night, I came out with my bike, I wanted to go and buy fuel so I can use it for night church.
“When I came outside I now met two boys, they said if I’m going I should help them. I said they’ll pay me and they said OK. I asked them to pay me two hundred Naira but they said they’ll pay me one hundred and fifty Naira. I agreed. Immediately I got to the bus stop there, some guys now rushed me and said these boys they are thieves oh and asked me why am I stopping. They now started beating me. The other guys they ran away. I wanted to see if I can fight them but I could not fight them because they were plenty after they finish beating me, police men were passing by and now carried me to Layeni police station.
“At Layeni, after they beat all my face, they now brought this gun and said that they saw it, that I’m the person that was carrying it. I don’t know anything pertaining to that gun. I told them where I work. I’m a staff of Flourmill. If they agree to call my manager to confirm me. I work 8 to 8. So what this man is showing me, I don’t know what this man is showing me or where it came from.” The suspect claimed.

Not long after, they claim they heard screams, like someone was in pain, and then a gunshot.
The bodies of Ericka and Akili were discovered by Akili’s father and Ericka’s ex-husband. He has custody of their daughter and was supposed to return with Akili to Bogota, Columbia, after their Florida visit. When he knocked on the door to pick up Akili for their trip on Tuesday, and got no response, he contacted a family member who then discovered mother and daughter dead in their bedroom.
It is believed that Ericka took her daughter’s life because she couldn’t bear to have her leave with her father, while some neighbours have revealed that Ericka was having problems with adjusting to life as an ordinary citizen. Ericka’s brother, Tony Williams, denied this claim and said she seemed to be transitioning from her military life to a civilian one well.
The authorities suspect no foul play and are treating the case as a murder-suicide.
