MISS-ITALY BEAUTY QUEEN EX-BOYFRIEND SPILLS ACID ON HER FACE, SCARRING HER FOR LIFE.

A 28 year old 'Miss Italy' beauty queen, Gessica Notaro was rushed to the hospital this week after her ex-lover Jorge Edson Tavares, 29, allegedly threw acid on her face while she was at home in Rimini, Italy.
  She suffered deep burns on her legs, hips, face, and hands and will require extensive plastic surgery according to the doctors in the hospital.

According to media sources in Italy, police issued Tavares a harassment order last summer after they broke up, but upon arrest by police, Tavares claimed he wasn't responsible for the attack.

  The pair reportedly met in an aquarium in Rimini, Italy when she was working as a dolphin trainer.

  Speaking to the Standard, Patrizia Mirigliani, a patron and organiser of the Miss Italy contest, said: 

 

‘There can be no greater crime than defacing a person’s face in order to erase her identity, her beauty, her smile. These are outrageous attacks which keep being repeated.’

"MY UMBRELLAS ARE ANOINTED FOR WONDERS", PASTOR SELLS UMBRELLAS N5000.

This pastor resides in Zambabwe, who is the general overseer of Goodness and Mercy Ministries, sold umbrellas for N5000 to members of the congregation, taming it as an anointed umbrella.

The umbrellas, the church leader Prophet Freddy said, had divine powers to protect owners from lightning strikes and storms during this rainy season.
  The umbrellas were also said to have the ability to protect congregants from evil spirits.

“God instructed me to pray for these umbrellas and there will be no member of this church who will buy the umbrella and get struck by lightning or will be tormented by demons.

“2017 is a year of overtaking and this year we shall overtake if you have faith, God will use these umbrellas to perform miracles, signs and wonders,” said prophet Freddy.

  H-Metro reports there were loud cheers and ululations from the followers who then flocked to the altar to buy the umbrellas.
  As congregants stampeded for the umbrellas, some got injured as they were trying to get hold of the first umbrella that the church leader Prophet Freddy had offered for free to his congregants.
  One of the ladies who was part of the scuffle, said she was injured as she tried to get the umbrella.

“I was pushed by another woman who also wanted the umbrella and I dislocated my arm but I don’t regret what happened to me and I believe I will be healed since I was injured in the house of God.

“I was not doing something wrong to anyone so I know these injuries will come to pass,” she said.

  Speaking in Abuja on Thursday at the presentation of a book, Religion and the Making of Nigeria, written by Prof. Olufemi Vaughan, the Nobel laureate imagined what the world would be if religion had never been invented and condemned killings in the name of religion saying he wondered how any rational being could attempt to justify homicide  as an act of devotion.

 If we do not tame religion in this nation, religion would kill us.

“I do not say kill religion, though, I wouldn’t mind a bit if that mission could be undertaken surgically, painlessly perhaps, under anaesthesia, effectively sprayed all over the nation or perhaps during an induced pouch of religious ecstasy.

“However, one has to be realistic. Only the religiously possessed or committed would deny the obvious.

The price that many have paid, not just within this society but by humanity in general, makes one wonder if the benefits have really been more than the losses.”

Can one think of any landscape without religious architecture?

Many Nigerians have paid the ultimate price because of religion and religion is now embedded in our society.

 In this very nation, in Southern Kaduna, over 800 souls were brutally extinguished suddenly while the issue of grazing land versus farming is unquestionably part of the conflict. It is equally undeniable that religious differences have played crucial role in the conflict.

According to Twitter user, Gbemi Famoti, an accident occurred on third mainland bridge on Thursday 13 January 2017 which left some injured, led to the destruction of over ten cars and nearly claimed his life.
  The accident was as a result of an oversight by the road construction company. Famoti wrote on Twitter, blaming the government for the accident that almost claimed lives, saying it was as a result of their "constant negligence and disregard for safety."
