Speaking about the tragic incident, Chief Siachilaba from Binga said that they died while attending his late sister’s funeral at her homestead when the tragedy struck.
He said when it started raining, some of the people attending the funeral took shelter under the tree which was later struck by lightning.

Asunmo stabbed Fatai to death with a knife at the White Sand area of Ijora Badia, during a scuffle over a prostitute.
He had challenged Fatai over his relationship with the lady, whom he (Asunmo) was dating.
A community leader, who did not want to be identified, told Punch that his attention was called to Fatai’s corpse, which was abandoned on a heap of refuse in the area. He said:
I was told that the two men fought and one stabbed the other to death. The police from the Ijora Badia came to take the corpse away.”Another resident, who did not identify herself, said the two men were drunk. She said:
“The men were always fighting after drinking. They fought after they were inebriated.”Another resident said the victim was a driver, while the suspect had no job.
A police source said Asunmo and Fatai had a disagreement over a woman. Punch reports he said,
“Asunmo suspected that Fatai was dating his girlfriend and he confronted him. Although the man denied, he attacked and killed him. The woman in question is a prostitute.”The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the suspect had been arrested.
She said,
“The corpse has been deposited in the morgue of the Mainland General Hospital. The suspect, who initially escaped, has been arrested.”
STRANGE MAN, CHOPS OFF HIS NEIGHBORS HAND FOR BEING TROUBLESOME.
Onome and the victim, Wale Badejo, lived on Ilasan Housing Estate, Ajah, in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of the state.
PUNCH Metro reports that Badejo was at a lotto centre on the estate last Wednesday when an argument ensued between him and some gamblers. The argument degenerated and Badejo reportedly
destroyed some items in the lotto shop.
After failed attempts to prevail on him to stop the trouble, a resident was said to have invited Onome, a tailor, to confront Badejo.
On getting to the shop, Onome reportedly confronted Badejo, resulting in a fight during which both men exchanged blows.
A resident, who identified himself as Emmanuel, said Onome later fled from the scene, but Badejo gave him a chase.
He said,
“The whole thing started as a minor argument between Wale (Badejo) and some people at the lotto shop. Samson (Onome) was called to prevail on him, but the situation became worse. They fought each other. At a point, Samson ran into his room and Wale followed him.
“Wale barged into Samson’s room with a bottle. Samson also brought out a cutlass, hacked him on the head and chopped off his left hand. There was blood everywhere.”Another eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Badejo was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, for treatment, while the incident was reported to the police at the Ilasan division.
“I was shocked, seeing the severed hand. He is still on admission at the hospital. The family was told that the possibility of fixing the hand was slim. The suspect is with the police,” he added.A police prosecutor, Corporal Friday Mameh, brought 34-year-old Onome before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on two counts of assault and attempted murder.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty and elected to stand trial. His counsel prayed that he should be granted bail in liberal terms.
The case was adjourned till February 6, 2016.

By the time she turned three, Daliyah was reading books on her own.

The Rann IDP camp in Kala-balge Local Government Area caters for thousands of persons displaced by Boko Haram.
A source at the camp told PREMUM TIMES that at least hundred people were injured and needed to be evacuated to hospitals.
At least two people are feared dead from the incident and the injured included officials of the Doctors without Borders, MSF.
The military spokesperson, Rabe Abubakar, a brigadier general, confirmed the incident but explained that it was an error that the military deeply regretted.
He explained that soldiers got information of movement of Boko Haram members and deployed ground troops and air cover to tackle the terrorists.
It was the air support that mistakenly dropped the bomb, he said.
Also, an International Red Cross, ICRC, helicopter has been deployed to the camp to evacuated the wounded to the various hospitals.
